The hubby's proposal came as shocking and unexpected rather than romantic.
In fact, the level of romance that night was at its minimum.
Who proposes when his girl is busy flicking sand of her sandals???

I'd always hoped the boy would sing his proposal.
But I must say, not everyone is musically-inclined.
